Highlights from Nor-Fishing 2026

Nor-Fishing has delivered beyond all expectations! We would like to thank all exhibitors, visitors, students and press who have visited the exhibition. The exhibition has been buzzing with people and there has been a fantastic atmosphere throughout the week. The halls have been very well visited, the conversations have been good, major contracts have been signed and we have had exciting lectures, debates and discussions.
CEO of the Nor-Fishing Foundation, Kristian Digre, and exhibition manager Kari Steinsbø, summarize Nor-Fishing like this:
– We have had a fantastic exhibition week. Many have signed major contracts and made new contacts. This underlines Nor-Fishing’s role as the seafood industry’s most important meeting place. We greatly appreciate everyone who has helped make Nor-Fishing an event that is attractive to the entire industry.»

Tuesday – a fantastic opening day
We had a fantastic start to the exhibition with the opening ceremony. Rein Alexander contributed with song, and the Minister of Fisheries and the Oceans, Marianne Sivertsen Næss, helped open the exihibition. The Innovation Award and the YoungFisher of the Year were also presented. We congratulate Dimeq AS on the Innovation Award and Markus Nygård as this year’s YoungFisher!

Exciting food offerings and new exhibition area
We also took Arne Hjeltnes with us to check out the food at the exhibition, which was better than ever! We had a chat with Isidro who had come all the way from Ecuador, and to the new exhibition area in Brattørbassenget where we got to witness a boat christening, among other things.
Magnificent Grand Dinner
The opening day ended, as usual, with the traditional and magnificent Grand Dinner.

Wednesday – a day for leads and contracts
The 2nd day of the exhibition was a day filled with exciting lectures, debates, and many exhibitors reported very well-visited stands and large numbers of leads. Wikborg Rein invited to an exciting panel debate on Fisheries Policy and the role of fisheries in Norwegian preparedness. Furuno Norge AS took home the award for the year’s best stand, and Torbjørn from Ahlsell reported that he had received over 200 sales leads on the first day of the exhibition.
Stands with high quality
The quality of the stands at this year’s exhibition has never been higher. Choosing the winner was anything but easy, but all the nominees were definitely worthy winners!
Spectacular Seafood Streetfood Dinner
Wednesday ended with delicious food, drinks and a show at the Seafood Streetfood Dinner. The Heine Totland Trio provided fantastic entertainment and made for a fantastic evening.

Thursday – a good last day of the exhibition
During the last day of the exhibition, students flocked to Nor-Fishing. We are incredibly proud to see how well everyone welcomed the industry’s next generation – and we have heard from many that there have been many exciting conversations and discussions about how we will take the industry into the future.
On the last day of the exhibition, this year’s Student Camp winners were also announced, to great applause. We congratulate the winners, but also give a big thank you to everyone who participated and put in a great effort in their tasks.

Big international participation
This year, the exhbition has also had visitors from over 60 countries, cementing its position as a very important international meeting place for the fisheries industry. We spoke to, among others, a Scottish skipper, a delegate from Chile and a Dane who could tell us about very relevant visits to their stand.
44 years at Nor-Fishing – A family of fishermen
One of the highlights of the day was also having a chat with the family behind Lending Rederi who have participated in Nor-Fishing for a number of years!
