Thousands have gathered in Trondheim Spektrum this week. Visitors and exhibitors from 53 nations have made this year’s exhibition a memorable event, with several contracts signed and the newest of technology displayed.
The fishing industry is a global industry, where nations cooperate across borders to harvest the oceans in the most sustainable way. Having a fixed meeting place during a busy year where many days are spent at sea is of great importance to many of the fair’s visitors and exhibitors.
For instance, we have heard from Maritime Montering, who finally got to sit down and sign a contract with Båtbygg, securing them the mission to outfit a new longliner for the Australian company Austral Fisheries Ltd.
International pavilions
A minimum of fifty-three nations have been represented at Nor-Fishing 2024. Our Danish friends were present under their usual pavilion in Hall D—additionally, nations such as Italy and Turkey have marked their presence with their own stands.
Among the exhibitors are several international companies and stands staffed by people from all over the world.
Strong Asian representation
We met Wang Rong, Manager in Chinese Xiamen Rich Fishing Nets Ltd., in the Hall C. She represents one of several Asian exhibitors and is visiting Nor-Fishing for the fourth time.
“Naturally, we weren’t here during the pandemic, and it’s nice to be back. Most of our customers are in the A and D halls this year, so even though we have a stand in Hall C, I have spent a lot of time in other halls to meet the customers,” says Rong.
In addition to the exhibition halls, filled to the brim with the latest technologies, the exhibition has served as a centre for presenting the latest research from several countries and organizations.
