It is with great sadness that we received the news today of the passing of His Majesty King Harald V.
Throughout his long life, His Majesty King Harald V has had a strong and significant connection to Norway’s fisheries and aquaculture industries. His presence and engagement have been an important testament to the significance of these industries to Norway.
As His Royal Highness Crown Prince Harald, he opened the very first Nor-Fishing exhibition in 1978. He visited Aqua Nor in 1983 and officially opened the exhibition in 1987.
The fact that the Royal Family has been present at Nor-Fishing and Aqua Nor 25 times is a clear testament to the importance His Majesty King Harald V has placed on Norway’s seafood industry. Over nearly five decades, he has helped to highlight, recognize and promote an industry that is a cornerstone of Norway’s economy, coastal culture and society.
Our thoughts are with the Royal Family and the entire Norwegian people.
