Recycled admission cards: Won NOK 10,000 for «Keep Norway Clean»

After Nor-Fishing, admission cards are collected for recycling. Among everyone who has submitted their card, one winner is drawn who will decide which environmental initiative the Nor-Fishing Foundation will donate NOK 10,000 kroner. The winner has now been drawn.

This year, Kenneth Borgen from Seaonics was drawn as the lucky winner. Borgen chose to donate the cash prize to the organization “Keep Norway Clean”.

— Norway has a fantastic coast and nature, but we constantly see how much plastic and other waste ends up along the coast and in the sea. Keep Norway Clean makes a very concrete effort to reduce this. They therefore felt like a natural choice, says the prize winner.

“Keep Norway Clean” is a non-profit membership organization that works against littering. The organization is behind the national clean-up campaigns Beach Clean-up Week, Spring Clean-up Day and City Clean-up Days, which bring together thousands of people for clean-up efforts every year.

Effective initiative

CEO of the Nor-Fishing Foundation Kristian Digre says Nor-Fishing works purposefully to ensure the lowest possible impact on the environment and climate.

— For the Nor-Fishing Foundation, the environment is a matter of great importance, and we will continue our work to make the exhibition greener. This year, as in previous years, many people recycled their admission cards by using the collection stations on the fairgrounds, says Digre, before Borgen concludes:

— For those of us who work in the maritime industry every day, it is natural to support initiatives that contribute to taking care of the sea. I think that the fact that a small competition at Nor-Fishing could end with a contribution to Keep Norway Clean was a very nice bonus.
